Any fellow utena enjoyers here? I first watched the show at a very formative time and it really restructured my brain. I must have seen it like 4-5 times now, I need to rewatch it again soon.

i LOVE UTENA

Very important show to me, I was recommended it by someone very important to me. I love the way it plays with gender roles and the abstract dreamlike atmosphere of it all.

One of my favourite things about it is how it slowly trains the viewer to read increasingly absurdist text, while deconstructing itself piece by piece. It encourages the viewer to analyze their own understanding of the world under a similar lens. In retrospect it's wild to see just how much it affected my worldview lol (can't stop thinking about the empty movement analogy). It can be a tough watch due to the heavy subject matter, but it really is something special!
